I have been a Registered Marriage Celebrant since 2010. Being able to be a part of the start of a couples life journey together is something that brings me great joy. Even more so now that any couple choose to formalise their relationship through marriage may now legally do so regardless of gender. I strongly believe in the commitment that creates and holds a marriage together even though it is sometimes difficult!
My professional background is in Nursing and I have worked as a nurse fairly constantly since 1982. My work involves caring for people with a cancer diagnosis and while this can sometimes be physically and emotionally exhausting it has given me the skills to deal with anything life can throw at me. To remain calm and achieve the best possible outcome for any problem and to help others do the same.
My interest in public speaking came about through my years of fundraising for the Queensland Cancer Fund during my three Nurse of the Year campaigns. I was constantly asked to speak at funerals and educational presentations. Becoming a Marriage Celebrant was a natural progression of this! I get great satisfaction out of organising social events and conducting ceremonies that bring joy to all. This is especially true of weddings. Helping couples create a wedding ceremony that is uniquely theirs is the most rewarding aspect of my job as celebrant. The memories created on this special day will last a lifetime and it is a privilege to be a part of that.
The same is true of all the ceremonies I am entrusted with, be it the renewal of vows, a baby naming or celebrating someones life at their funeral. I am confident speaking in front of small or large gatherings.
I am married and have a loving and supportive relationship with my son and grandchildren. I have always been an animal lover and there are always an array of horses and dogs in the mix! Life is certainly never dull!
Your ceremony will be (in my hands) a successful event, which will give you many many wonderful and lasting memories….
